Outstanding per capita gross value added and high average purchasing power
In 2007 the Frankfurt/ Rhein-Main Region generated a gross value added of approximately EUR 180 bn., i.e. roughly 8.3 % of the total gross added value of Germany. In 2007 the per capita gross value added of the region was EUR 70.300 and thus 11,7 % higher than the national average.

A survey purchasing power reveals for 2004 a per capita purchasing power for the Frankfurt/Rhein-Main Region of EUR 18,969. This is 12.1 % higher than the average for Germany.

Service Sector
At mid-2007 76,3 % of the employed social security contributors in the Frankfurt/Rhein-Main Region worked in the services sector, 23,1 % worked in the producing sector.

Location of trendsetting industries
As an innovative region, various cities in the region have agreed to the region's request to build up and sponsor networks of competence for their cities and the entire RheinMain region. As an innovative Region RheinMain has several networks of competence in the following sectors: Automotive, Biotechnology, Consulting services, Financial services, IT, Logistics, Materials research and technology, Media. Telecommunication
The Frankfurt Rhine-Main Region offers an excellent infrastructure of telecommunication services: more than 250 telecommunication companies and internet providers are represented in the region. Frankfurt offers with the fiber optic network spanning 4000 km the highest density of fiber optic network in Germany. More over the German internet exchange De-CIX processes more than 85 % of the German and approximately 35 % of all European internet traffic.

Dynamic region of science and research
The Frankfurt Rhine-Main Region is an unique European location of science and research. The number of graduates, the educational level of the employees, the investments in research and development and the number of patent applications emphasise the attractiveness of the region's scientific and innovative resources.
